Sigma Kappa Delta

Founded in 1996, Sigma Kappa Delta has its origins in Sigma Tau Delta, the national English honor society for four-year colleges and universities.  Louisburg College chartered The Rho Epsilon Chapter of Sigma Kappa Delta in 2012. It recognizes excellent students and provides great opportunities to build a resume for future colleges. For membership, students must have an overall grade point average of 3.0 or higher and have earned B's or higher in all English classes.

Sigma Kappa Delta strives to:

  • Confer distinction for high achievement in the English language and literature in undergraduate studies.

  • Provide cultural stimulation on college campuses and promote interest in literature and the English language in the surrounding communities.

  • Foster all aspects of the discipline of English, including literature, language, and writing.

  • Promote exemplary character and good fellowship among its members.

  • Exhibit high standards of academic excellence and serve society by fostering literacy.
